Others will do a live video chat, which feels a bit more like a traditional interview but online. Both need a bit of specific prep! For any video interview, the tech and environment are key. Find a quiet spot where you won't be interrupted, ideally with a plain background. Good lighting is super important – you want to be clearly visible, so try to have light coming from in front of you, not behind. Test your camera and microphone beforehand, and if you have one, use a laptop on a stable surface. It's less faff than trying to prop up your phone! You don't want to run out of time mid-sentence! Also, check if you get multiple attempts to record. Some platforms let you re-record, which is a massive help, while others are one-and-done. And finally, dress smartly! Even if you're only visible from the waist up, looking the part helps you feel confident. And don't forget to properly end the call or stop sharing your screen when you're done – you don't want any accidental slip-ups!
